Many of us spend our whole lives running from feeling- with the mistake belief that you cannot bear the pain. But you have already borne the pain. What you have not done is feel all you are beyond the pain. ~Kahlil Gibran
As human beings there are very few who have escaped sorrow, difficulty, and pain that comes with living. But no matter what our pain; a broken arm, a broken heart or something even worse….God created us to bounce back, to mend, to heal, to restore and to repair our bodies and our spirits.
Exodus 15:26 says that “I am the God that heals you.” God isn’t saying in this verse that He was, or that He’ll get around to it someday, but rather that He is, right now, right this moment the God that heals.
God can and will heal any part of us that may be broken and hurt or in pain…we can become whole again.
In Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”
Why is Jesus is called the Prince of Peace….. because the true meaning of peace is taken from the Hebrew word “shalom” which means to be made whole and complete, peaceful, calm and sound. Nothing is missing and nothing is broken.
This is God’s promise, to bring shalom into our lives….to take our wounds, our pain and restore to us the glory of healing.
In the next while I’d like to share more about what I’ve discover about God’s healing in my own journey…..
